What Is FUT Surgery?
FUT Hair Transplant Surgery (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is a method of Hair Transplant Surgery whereby a strip of scalp containing hair follicles is extracted from a donor area (at the back of the scalp). The strip is then separated into invidual grafts ready for transplanting into the thinning or bald area.
Over the years, the techniques for both extraction and implantation of hair follicles have improved drastically and the results are impressive and extremely natural looking.
The techniques for FUE and the other method of hair transplant surgery (FUT) vary in the method of extraction. One of the advantages of FUE surgery over FUT is that there is no scar left in the donor area, as with FUT where hair follicles are harvested by removing a strip of scalp.
